What is NEWX?
NEWX is a free news aggregation and analysis app built by Kaushik Technology Solutions LLP in India. It groups every report of the same event across outlets, shows how many newsrooms covered it and where their accounts differ, keeps long-running stories as Story Arcs with numbered chapters, carries a hyperlocal feed down to your own locality, and includes an AI news assistant that answers with cited sources. It runs on iOS and Android.
Is NEWX good for quick reads if I have no time for news?
Yes — that is the default way to use it. Every story in the feed is a short original summary of about 60–70 words, capped at 470 characters, read at a glance and swiped past, and the feed ends with “You caught up” rather than refilling. Open a story and you choose the depth: Gist at about 30 seconds, Sources at about 2 minutes, or Dig in at full depth. The 30-second Gist is still written from every outlet that covered the event, not from one article, and Story Arcs tell you what developed since your last visit. For the shortest habit, the Top News Brief delivers a personalised top ten twice a day.
What makes NEWX different from other news apps?
Four things: Story Arcs, which keep a running story as numbered chapters and recap what you missed; a “Where sources disagree” section that names the conflict between outlets instead of averaging it away; claim-level provenance, where long-pressing any quote, fact or number shows the publisher and the paragraph it came from; and a Blindspot label for stories national outlets ran but no local source confirmed. Plus a hyperlocal feed that resolves to your own locality, not just your city.
Is NEWX free? Does it have ads?
NEWX is free with one account type, no subscriptions and no in-app purchases. There are no ads, no advertising SDKs, no marketing or behavioural analytics SDKs and no third-party trackers. Data is not sold.
What is a Story Arc?
A long-running story kept as an object with a history: numbered chapters named for what changed, turning points labelled Onset, Escalation or Resolution, a Quick Recap giving one line per chapter, and a marker showing where you are caught up to.
How local is the NEWX local feed?
It resolves in four tiers — Your locality, Nearby, City and State — with a slider to move between them. Coverage is populated for India today and is deepest in Maharashtra, with other states expanding.
Can I check where a fact in a NEWX summary came from?
Yes. Long-press any quote, fact or figure and a sheet shows the publisher name and the exact paragraph the claim came from.
What languages does NEWX support?
Six: English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada and Punjabi, for both the interface and the article content.
Which platforms does NEWX run on, and where do I get it?
iOS and Android. It is on Google Play as com.newx.mobile and on the App Store as app ID 6802946527.
Will NEWX spam me with notifications?
It is built to do the opposite. Following a Story Arc notifies you when the story actually turns, not every time an outlet rewrites the same event. Quiet hours is a seven-hour silence window in your own timezone that holds alerts rather than dropping them and delivers them when it ends, every notification category has its own switch, and a morning and evening brief round up the day's top stories.

NEWX is owned and built by Kaushik Technology Solutions LLP, an independent product technology company in India. It has no political affiliation, is not aligned with or endorsed by any party, and takes no party or government funding. It is not owned by any media house, industrial group or conglomerate, has no outside investors, and runs no newsroom of its own — so it has no editorial line to protect.
